Basic Limited Warranty

In the event that a component of your unit malfunctions due to a manufacturing defect, the Basic Limited Warranty guarantees a free replacement part. This warranty is generally valid for five years and applies to units that are either unregistered or registered more than 60 days after installation. Note that labor costs are not included, and the duration of coverage may vary depending on the product.

Registered Limited Warranty

By registering your product within 60 days of installation, you can extend your warranty coverage to 10 years under the Registered Limited Warranty. Similar to the Basic Limited Warranty, it covers the cost of parts that fail due to manufacturing defects but does not include labor costs for repairs. The duration of coverage may vary depending on the specific product.

Optional Extended Warranty

Even American Standard’s best heating and cooling systems may need service regardless of their excellent reputation. Protect your budget against unforeseen future repair costs and get peace of mind by purchasing an Extended Service Agreement (ESA) when you invest in a new home comfort system.

Ask your local dealer about ESA options, which can provide labor coverage for 2, 5, 10, or 12 years (residential installations), including the trip / diagnostic fee. A 12-year ESA policy also includes parts coverage for the 11th and 12th years.

Buy tomorrow’s repair cost at today’s prices. Considering a single service call could cost you more than the initial cost of the ESA, the decision should be easy.

Can You Transfer Your Warranty?

Selling your home can be challenging, but transferring your Registered Limited Warranty to the new owner doesn’t need to add to the stress. To successfully transfer the warranty, all you need to do is pay a one-time fee of $99 using a credit card and complete the transfer process within 90 days of selling your home. Check to see if your system qualifies for transfer to a new homeowner.

Not Transferable: Warranty transfers with American Standard were introduced on August 1, 2011. Units registered before this date are not eligible for transfer.

Transferable: Since August 1, 2011, American Standard allows warranty transfers. If your unit was registered on or after this date, you can transfer the warranty to the new homeowner.
